The Metropolitan Museum of Manila (Met) showcases pre-colonial, modern and contemporary Philippine art.
The permanent exhibitions show pre-colonial goldwork and pottery, religious art, works by the great 19th-century painter Felix Resurreccion Hidalgo,and the best of Philippine contemporary art. The contemporary exhibition presents a wide range of materials and forms, such as installations, paintings, videos, comics, and photography. Temporary exhibitions of modern Philippine art complete the Met's programme. The museum also offers guided tours and a comprehensive education programme for children and adults, with workshops, lectures and other activities.
